Kiev, Ukraine 2008. In the city of Kiev, there are small reminders everywhere of when Ukraine was behind the iron curtain. I found that this curious expression of outdated nationalism was a great testiment to how much the every day lives of Eastern Europe have changed in the last 40 years. I loved the history behind this simple piece of sidewalk mosaic.
