The Master 2

This element is a tiny, antique clock gears, wooden gears, and watch parts that measures less than two inches wide. Two other notable details on the original painting are 'The Slave', which depicts a human figure bound in strips of canvas and hung by a chain and 'The Master' which shows time confining the human mind and spirit with finality. I took this photo to show the text both written and clipped from a newspaper adhered to the painting. This piece is based on a poem by Dylan Thomas called 'Do Not Go Gentle' which speaks to the human struggle against the finality of time.
