The Sun

Though the mixed media painting from which I took this photo is large, this element is a tiny, antique watch platform that measures less than an inch wide. Two other notable details on the original painting are 'The Slave', which depicts a human figure bound in strips of canvas and hung by a chain and 'The Master' which shows time confining the human mind and spirit with finality. This is a photo that I took of a piece of a mixed media painting I created based on a poem by Dylan Thomas. The piece and the poem are both titled, 'Do Not Go Gentle'. This poem is one of the most raw and gritty pieces I have read based on ones struggle with ones own mortality.
